In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Mithra will highlight how technology has enabled constant communication but paradoxically diminished the art of genuine conversation. She will explore the impact of technology on communication, comparing past and present practices. She will also reminisce about simpler times when communication was direct and personal, contrasting this with today's reliance on digital tools and their effects on social skills will point out that despite having numerous ways to connect, meaningful dialogue seems to be declining. To address these issues, she will suggest practical solutions such as creating tech-free zones and encouraging face-to-face interactions. She encourages everyone to make an effort to engage more personally with others, highlighting that the most important aspects of life cannot be replicated by technology. The speech will end with a call to action to foster deeper connections and a reminder that genuine human interaction remains irreplaceable.

Porkalaivani Nagarajan

ALUMNA OF RJ MANTRA ENGLISH SCHOOL
In Porkalaivani's reflective speech, she shares her journey of confronting imposter syndrome and self-doubt. As an overachieving student who excelled academically and socially, she faced a crisis when repeated failures in her CA Inter Examination undermined her confidence and identity. Despite outward success, she struggled with feelings of inadequacy and a fear of being exposed as a fraud. Her self-doubt led to procrastination and over-preparation, particularly evident during a series of postponed presentations.
