Noa Sanaa
Noa Sanaa is a teen poet and spoken word artist from Sacramento, CA. She published her first book of poetry, “Her Black Voice, I’m Not Done
Talking” at the age of fourteen. With the release of her first book, Noa Sanaa’s popularity grew quickly allowing her to grace many stages from Sacramento to the East Bay Area and beyond.
As a member of the 2023 SAYS (Sacramento Area Youth Speaks) Poetry Slam Team, Noa Sanaa had a significant role in contributing to the team’s success of placing placed 4th in the country at the 2023 Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam Competition. She is currently a member of the 2024 SAYS (Sacramento Area Youth Speaks), placing
1st in the Sacramento Poetry Slam Finals, to secure her spot on the 2024 slam team.
Noa Sanaa has been featured been on several local media outlets including Your California Life on ABC10, Good Day Sacramento on CBS13, Natomas Unified School District Spotlight, N Magazine, Studio40 Live on Fox40, and Our Spiritual Podcast on Spotify.
Noa Sanaa is an amazingly talented teen writer and advocate of justice and equality, women’s rights, and mental health awareness for those who do not have a voice. She started the Poetic Justice Freedom Writing Workshops in 2023 to give back to her community. The workshops are intended to inspire young minds to freely express themselves through the art of poetry in hopes that they will find their own voice and build confidence within themselves.
Noa Sanaa’s talents expand beyond spoken word and poetry as she also loves writing stories, stage play and musical scripts, acting, and singing. Her book is available for purchase on her website noasanaa.com, and Barnes and Noble online. Her book is also available for checkout at select locations of the Sacramento Public Library and Solano County library. Noa Sanaa’s second book, Her Black Voice II, is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2024.
