In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Colleen Murray

PhD Student
Colleen is a doctorate student in the Department of Biological Sciences at Idaho State University, where she studies the physiological effects of mutations in voltage-gated sodium ion channels in human disease.

Curtis Anderson

Professor of Physiology
Curt Anderson is a Professor of Physiology at Idaho State University where he has taught for 27+ years. His PhD is in Comparative Physiology and Neuroscience and teaches human anatomy and physiology and neuroscience for multiple health professions, as well as comparative physiology and comparative anatomy. Widely published from comparative evolutionary neuroanatomy and neuroethology to philosophy and medical ethics, he has yet to find a focus. His latest textbook ‘Comparative Animal Physiology: Form, Function and Adaptation’ is due out of the publisher this year. His research ranges from the evolution of the brain to the science of mindfulness and meditation. Dr Anderson raced sled dogs for 20 some years, and now bides his time raising the world’s coolest daughter, working as a volunteer EMT, fly fishing, hiking, golfing and staring blankly at the night sky.

Hollis Rohrer

Molliann Jones

Biomimicry Professional
Molliann was born and raised on the California Coast. Growing up outdoors, Molliann was always fascinated by the how and why of the world around her. Molliann completed her Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry and went on to obtain her Master's of Science degree in Biomimicry. Recently relocating to Idaho with her family, Molliann is more determined than ever to encourage sustainable design and protect Nature's wild landscapes for her daughter's to enjoy as they grow up. With her background in chemistry and biochemistry, Molliann has noticed that many biomimicry professionals shy away from the principle of designing with ‘life friendly chemistry’ fearing the complexity of diving into chemistry based challenges. With that in mind, Molliann has made biomimicry and green chemistry education a primary pillar of her growing career.

Studying full-time, he juggles three jobs and runs his businesses, showcasing resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. He’s deeply committed to giving back, volunteering with refugee groups and fostering support for those facing similar challenges. Aspiring to launch tech startups tackling global issues like food and water scarcity and advancements in nanotechnology, Prem exemplifies innovation for social good, inspiring others to embrace perseverance and resilience.
