Freddy Garcia
Student at UWC Costa Rica
To answer the question “Who am I? I want to talk about my essence.
It is that force that motivates me and fills me with energy to give 100% every day. It is the one that guides me to fulfill the purpose of helping the people around me.
I want to use my essence, guided by my passion for science and technology, to combine it with social impact, and have them converge in a single space. I'm looking for the tools to develop business models that use emerging digital technologies to improve the quality of life, opportunities, and sustainability for people in vulnerable communities.
I am a person in constant reshaping. But I have never stopped embracing new experiences and because of that now I have the opportunity to fulfill a dream and give a TEDx talk.
I am Freddy García, Venezuelan, 18 years old. UWC Costa Rica student from the Generation of 2025.
Helena Namuli
Student at UWC Costa Rica
I am Helena Namuli Kaggwa (she/her), 17, and a proud Ugandan whose journey from East Africa to international boarding schools, previously Kenya and now in Costa Rica has fueled my passion for African identity and advocating for education reform in Uganda. From an early age, my parents instilled in me the value of eloquence and passion–shaping my character and speech today. I am deeply committed to the decolonization of the African mind as I recognize its lasting impact still evident today, especially in Africa's tendency to confuse westernization for development. Proudly, I am known by my friends as a “passionate” speaker of my mother tongue language, Luganda.

Michelle Pradeep
Student at UWC Costa Rica
I'm Michelle Pradeep, a 16 year old from the outskirts of a small state called Kerala in India. I come from a simple, yet uniquely diverse family of professions, people and attitudes, shaping me into what I am today; a curious yet driven person who seeks to learn and be better than before. Having lived around my family my entire life, I grew up passionate about my country, my family and my community, leading me to stand before you to talk about a pressing issue that not many know. I hope that my ideas and stories receive a stage to be heard and that it will be enlightening and important to many as it is to myself.
