TEDxSunnyvaleLive is a simulcast of one day of TEDGlobal from Edinburgh, Scotland.
We will show all four sessions from Wednesday of TEDGlobal. Due to the eight hour time difference between Edinburgh and Silicon Valley, we will time-shift the sessions here.
We have a stress-free policy for our committee and our attendees. We want to keep the process of attending simple and casual. We know that most people have work commitments, and can't dedicate a whole weekday, even for a major TED event. So we have an open-door plan.
We'll start showing Session 4: Globality of TED Global promptly at noon on Wednesday, June 27th. Bring your lunch and join us in the Conference Room at TechShop in San Jose. There is free parking until the lot fills up. Come in when you can, leave when you have to, or stay for more.
At two p.m. we'll view Session 5: Shades of Openness.
At four p.m. we'll watch together Session 6: Misbehaving Beautifully.
For these three sessions we plan to just watch the entire session all the way through, nonstop. We'll have water, coffee, and maybe soft drinks available.
At seven p.m., we'll watch Session 7: Long Term.
We'll have sandwiches, courtesy of our hosts. So come, eat dinner, and watch this full session together with us after work. If folks want, we'll have a brief discussion after each speaker, as is the TEDxSunnyvale tradition. I saw Percussive Guitarist Usman Riaz perform today at the TED Fellows event from Edinburgh, and he is phenomenal. He's performing as part of Session 7!
If you register in advance by five p.m. Tuesday you will get a free, personalized, laser-engraved nametag.
While we could have chosen only to show Session 7 at 7 p.m., we thought it better served our community to also show the other three sessions of the day, but in a lower-key way.
