'Live Compassionately' is TEDxSingapore's first global TED Prize event.

Treat all others as you'd like to be treated yourself.

Do not do to others what you would not like them to do to you.

In 2007, Karen Armstrong was invited by Singapore to speak about compassion to more than 800 community and government leaders, diplomats and Singaporeans from numerous races, cultures and faiths.

In 2008, TED awarded her The TED Prize to bring together voices from all cultures and religions to draft The Charter and remind everyone that we share the core principles of compassion.

In 2009, The Charter for Compassion launched for all peoples of our world on 12 November.

Globally, over 200 events were held with thousands of people attending. In Singapore, we joined the world to mark the launch of The Charter for Compassion.
