TEDxCanberra is pleased to be hosting its first TEDxCanberraWomen event, in conjunction with TEDxWomen, a TEDx event organised by the Paley Center for Media that focuses on women and women’s issues.
TEDxWomen events are hosted around the live webcast of TEDxWomen, and also feature local speakers. TEDxCanberraWomen is one of many TEDx events happening around the globe on the weekend of November 30-December 2 2012 that will expand on the ideas brought up at TEDxWomen.
This year TEDxWomen is themed The Space Between. This is the second edition of TEDxWomen - the first brought to the stage speakers such as Gloria Steinem, Dr. Oz and Jane Fonda and was viewed by 120 TEDx communities around the globe. The event was inspired by TEDWomen, which took place in 2010.
What you can expect
TEDxCanberraWomen is a one-day conference to be held in Canberra on Sunday 2 December. Attendees will watch The Rising, the final session of TEDxWomen streamed live from Washington D.C. before hearing from our own local speakers who will share their ‘idea worth spreading’. The conference will also offer plenty of opportunity to connect with other attendees and engage in deep discussion about women’s issues.
Registrations are expected to open and the speaker line-up announced in late October 2012. Further information will be posted on this site.
