In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Michael Mason

Michael Mason is an editor, writer, speaker, and journalist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His works have appeared in several newspapers and magazines, including Discover,The New York Times, and The Believer. Mason has also appeared as a guest on several national media outlets, including the Lehrer Newshour, CBS News, NPR’s Morning Edition and The Diane Rehm Show. In 2010, he founded This Land Press, Oklahoma’s first New Media company, and serves as its founder and editor. As a new media company, This Land publishes an acclaimed bi-weekly broadsheet, produces nationally-broadcast radio programs, airs a weekly TV show, distributes an iPad app, and operates one of the largest online media communities in Oklahoma. Jase Wilson

Jase Wilson has a Masters of City Design & Development from MIT, and has a passion for urban design and city planning. He is the creator and CEO of Neighbor.ly, an internet crowdfunding platform that engages citizens to invest in civic infrastructure projects. Neighbor.ly focuses on capital improvement projects such as transportation, sports, entertainment, education, and public amenities. One major endeavor that Neighbor.ly directly influenced is the proposed streetcar line in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Individuals who donate money in advance to help fund an idea or platform get a perk or product in return. Neighbor.ly has been featured in The Huffington Post, Governing Magazine, TechPresident, and Momentum Magazine.
