This year's TEDxChange theme could not have been more fitting as Cyprus is going through the maelstrom of the worst and perhaps deepest crisis since its independence in 1960. Spurred by a financial crisis, it appears that disruption is now taking place in the social, political and values system, leaving no stone unturned. Impending chaos is here, as is conflict between the haves and the have nots, those we drove the banking system to defaulting and those we are called to pay the price.
As described by TEDxChange ..."disruption can be a positive – sometimes vital – catalyst for change. It can challenge old assumptions, ignite conversations, activate authorities and expose new possibilities. Disruption can shed a unique light on difficult issues, giving a fresh urgency and perspective to the challenges of our [global] community" - this statement couldn't ring more true, right here, right now in Cyprus and it's capital, Nicosia the base of TEDxNicosia. We welcome you to join us to view the live stream and hopefully exchange ideas and perspectives afterwards and for the days to come, because, we certainly can use a shot of optimism, through POSITIVE DISRUPTION.
