Situated in historic Somerset House, The Courtauld is a unique institution dedicated exclusively to the study, preservation and conservation of art.
This year, TEDxCourtauldInstitute recognises The Courtauld as a centre for art yet pushes beyond its borders, exploring the ways in which we as humans reach our full potential and bring about change.
As students of art history, we constantly oscillate between the past, present, and future. We discover the history of an object and examine how it functioned and what contributed to its production. We pick apart that object, finding what materials and techniques were used. We explore the relevance of that object in the present and why that object matters. Today, we ask you to do the same about yourself, your work and your inspiration.
How have your experiences shaped who you are today? What tools did you use to carve your achievements? Why does what you do matter, and how does it impact life?
‘Colouring life’ challenges us to consider the brushstrokes that helped create personal achievement and how individuals and organizations can make a difference to people’s lives.
Just as art does, TEDxCourtauldInstitute: Colouring Life aims educate, inspire and bring awareness of human potential.

Cat and Mouse
Theatre
Cat and Mouse Theatre are a Brighton based theatre company who specialise in creating interactive and immersive performances. Since being founded in 2012 by Joe Mulcrone and Merry Colchester, they have gone on to create an immersive Time Machine - which is currently being re-developed for touring and have been an integral part of Gypsy Disco events, providing theatrics for sold out events in Brighton, throughout London and across the festival circuit. At Boomtown Fair they curate the theatrics for Charlie Browns Casino, performing as a mob of 1920s gangsters - carrying out sieges, shoot-outs and raids within the venue and throughout the festival and have gone on to take the gang to the Rose Theatre, Kingston and to private events throughout the UK. In 2013 they collaborated with Inconvenient Spoof on ‘Buddhism: Is it just for losers’ - a post structuralist zen clown show that after its sold out run at the Brighton Fringe was hailed with 4 stars as ‘'very, very funny.
