Let Girls Learn Gives Hope in Ghana
About this video: In Africa, 40% of the female population does not have access to basic education. In this film, Angela K. Jimoh, IBM’s first female Country General Manager in Africa, explains why this issue exists and tells the story of Akua, a young girl whose mother was determined her daughter get an education. To help support girls’ access to education in Ghana, IBM’s Corporate Service Corps teamed with the Peace Corps, the Let Girls Learn initiative, and TECHAiDE to provide smart phone technology and other classroom resources to expand opportunities for girls across Africa.
