Glen J. Golden, Ph.D., is a neurobiologist and canine behaviorist whose research is directed toward understanding the associative processes involved in mammalian olfactory learning. In collaboration with staff at Colorado State University, Monell Chemical Senses Center and the National Wildlife Research Center, Golden has examined the relationships between disease-related odors and conspecific animal behaviors. Golden is interested in uncoupling the myths of volatile odor detection by dogs from the common methodology used in scent detection dogs while continuing to improve these same methods while attempting to understand the underlying neural mechanisms.
