Why you should listen

Peter Pomerantsev writes about authoritarian propaganda and researches ways to fight it. He is a senior fellow at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Agora Institute of Johns Hopkins University. In his first book, Nothing is True and Everything is Possible, he wrote about how modern propaganda is not just about persuading people, but also confusing them to the point where they can't tell fact from fiction. He focuses his university work on testing ways to challenge the menace of unreality. He concluded that we need to reinvent how we think about media and forge a new way to rebuild democracy together. His latest book, How to Win an Information War, explores positive and negative lessons from the Second World War as to how to do so.
